In the spirit of Thanksgiving (and the necessity to thin The Harned Family's growing flock) - we enlisted the help of fifteen eager students and four fathers to catch, slaughter, and butcher five pesky rosters.
It was a huge success, but not without great effort, of running, jumping, and diving for the evasive roosters. After 45 minutes of "chase", we captured all the roosters and proceeded to the slaughter, scalding, and inviserating. We also took advantage of the opportunity to run through a brief biology and dissection lesson with the children.
Many thanks to the Harned family for hosting and generously sharing the harvest with the families who attended.
