Father Scott Settimo

Born in Connecticut and the oldest of two, he grew up in various northeast and midwest localities as his father (a convert to the faith) pursued a business career and mother (a cradle Catholic) tended to the home while the boys were in school.
After graduating high school in upstate New York, the future Fr. Settimo entered the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, CT.
After graduating and receiving his commission he would serve aboard a buoy tender in southern California, then command of a patrol boat in northern California, and served as a duty officer at a district Operations Center.
He left the service in order to join his father’s specialty contracting business in San Diego and, after his father’s retirement, ran it for ten years.

Eventually, the “Hound of Heaven,” having implanted the impulse toward a religious vocation in high school, succeeded in turning the former life-saver and present businessman toward the “business” of saving souls.
Entering the Discalced Carmelites in 1998, Brother Scott Settimo was a seminarian in simple vows when he transferred to the Diocese of Juneau (Alaska), for which he was ordained in 2006.
After several pastoral assignments, which included at one point ministering to traditional Catholic faithful and learning the traditional Mass, during an authorized leave of absence to care for his widowed father, Father Settimo entered the Society’s Priest’s Program. Completing it in 2017, he went on to assist at a mission of Our Lady of Sorrows Priory in Arizona and then transferred to Florida in 2019, where he assists with the SSPX Third Order and the Brooksville mission.
