Lent is the time we are meant to deepen our love and wonder at the mystery of the Redemption. It is during the Holy Week in particular that the Church invites us to contemplate this great mystery of the Cross and our union to Christ sufferings.

Fr. John Mark McFarland attended Pope John Paul II High School in Boca Raton, Florida. Following his graduation, Fr. McFarland attended the University of Maryland where he got a degree in history. In September 2004, he attended his first Latin Mass which lead him to enter the seminary in the fall of 2006.
He was ordained in 2012, and was assigned to St. Mary's Academy in Kansas, where he has spent 5 years in the Academy teaching, and assisting with parish duties.
In 2017, he was assigned Prior of Our Lady of Sorrows Church and Priory in Phoenix, Arizona.
