In August 1973 at the Ecône Seminary, Fr. Marziac attended a 30 day retreat for the third time. On October 7, 1976, on the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, at Poligny in the Jura mountains, Fr. Barrielle told him: “Take the lead in organizing our retreats!” On October 11, on the Feast of the Maternity of the Most Holy Virgin Mary, it was Archbishop Lefebvre who asked him: “Yes, organize these retreats.”
Jean-Jacques Marziac was born in Strasbourg on July 2, 1924, on the feast of the Visitation of the Blessed Virgin Mary. As he said himself, all the great stages of his life were marked by Our Lady. He was baptized on August 3.
