News from Our Floridian Missionary in Argentina

An important day for the Kindergarden children from the Child Jesus School in La Reja, Argentina occured on September 12, 2018, when under the direction of their chaplain, Fr. David Baquerizo, they consecrated themselves to Our Lady.
On September 12, 2018, feast of the Holy Name of Mary, the Kindergarden of the Escuela del Niño Jesús (Child Jesus School) in La Reja, Argentina made their consecration to Our Lady. Under the direction of their chaplain, Fr. David Baquerizo, and of their teachers the children gathered in the chapel of the school where they received a special blessing. During the sermon, Father reminded them of the importance of listening to and obeying the Mother of Jesus who is also ours. The boys dressed as crusaders, and the girls, in white (a challenge for the mothers in the humid and muddy La Reja) sang their act of consecration to Our Lady, and then received nice miraculous medals that they proudly wore around their necks. The ceremony was finalized by a procession to the statue of Our Lady which was crowned for the occasion.
After such a long ceremony, the breakfast was welcome and brought real joy to all these little ones!
Fr. Baquerizo was raised in Miami and there used to be a parishioner of St. Philomena's Shrine. When the summer hits his South American school in January, he returns with great pleasure to Miami to visit his family. Father was ordained in 2013 after his studies in the SSPX seminary of Nuestra Señora Corredentora in La Reja, Argentina. Since then, he has been dedicated to the care of the little ones at the Escuela del Niño Jesús located on the property of the Seminary in La Reja.
