Having passed the month of May and entered June, this Regina Coeli Report presents the First Communion ceremonies in our chapels throughout the U.S. District. The Eucharist is the center of parish life emphasized in the months dedicated to the Sacred Heart and His Mother.

In this issue of the Regina Coeli Report we focus on processions. As an act of public worship, processions once played an important role in the life of the Catholic Church. Indeed, evidence of processions can be found in our liturgical worship, such as when the priest processes to the altar at every Mass. Over the course of the last century, however, processions started to dwindle.

The Son of God waits for us in the tabernacle, but few take advantage of this incredible opportunity. As St. Peter Julian Eymard wrote, “Man has time for everything, except visits to his Lord and God, Who is waiting and longing for him in His tabernacle. The streets and houses of amusement are filled with people; the House of God is deserted.”

The U.S. District of the Society of Saint Pius X, through its Abuse Prevention and Response Program, seeks to help all victims of abuse or those wishing to submit their complaints concerning the comportment of one of its members or employees.

For the past week, the Society of Saint Pius X has been the subject of a media campaign conducted by the Church Militant website. It has been accused of having “sympathy for perverts” (sic) and of covering up for some of its members or employees who may have been guilty of misconduct. This is not the first campaign, and it will certainly not be the last. Already, in July 2019, similar accusations had been made against the Society’s authorities by Church Militant.
