Easter blessing of Sanford, FL expansion

See some images of the groundbreaking ceremony at Sanford and read a memorial about Mr. Campbell, father of 2 traditionalist priests.

Fr. Alain Nely, First Assistant of the SSPX, spent Holy Week at our Sanford, Florida priory. On Easter Sunday, after the Solemn Mass, he blessed the grounds of the construction site for the expansion of the priory complex. This project, which is scheduled to last 6 months, will provide 8 bedrooms, and a more suitable environment for the priests and visitors in this sub-tropical location!

St. Thomas More Priory currently offers a K-8 school with 45 students, and houses 3 priests. These faithful priests serve 4 additional chapels in Miami, Davie, Ft. Myers and Lake Worth each weekend. Miramar Beach is also serviced by a traditional Mass from this priory once each month. All told, the SSPX serves more than 650 faithful in Florida.

This parish also started its annual Pascua Florida Pilgrimage this week, A 110-mile trek from Sanford to St. Augustine—one of the most historically relevant Catholic sites in America—over the course of 6 days. We will report more on this edifying pilgrimage next week.

In memoriam

On Good Friday, the chapel of St. Thomas More lost a pilar of their community, Mr. Craig Campbell (read his obituary).

Of his 11 children, he gave 2 sons to the priesthood: Fr. Benjamin Campbell (SSPX) and Fr. Elias (OSB). The burial was celebrated Wednesday March 30—an edifying and Solemn Requiem Mass with his 2 sons at the altar.

Requiescat in pace and may he intercede soon for Tradition!
