St. Thomas More Priory is proud to present you its priests who pray and work for you everyday.

Fr. Marc Vernoy, Prior

Fr. Marc Vernoy grew up in Normandy, France, a few miles away from Lisieux, home of the Little Flower. He is the eldest of four children to very generous and hard-working Catholic parents. From a young age, he enjoyed attending the mass of the retired Arch-priest Thomas, who had married his parents and who baptized him. After the death of faithful Arch-priest, Fr. Vernoy was guided on his spiritual journey by Rev. Fr. Quintin Montgomery-Wright, one of the very first priests to support Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre.

After graduating from business school in Paris in 1988 and performing military service in Germany, Fr. Vernoy entered the seminary in Econe, Switzerland. He was ordained on June 29, 1995, and then was assigned to India, where he served first as Assistant Priest and later as Prior. His apostolate covered all of Asia, focusing especially on the Philippines. After his assignment in Asia, Father served as Prior and Principal in Languedoc-Roussillon in the south of France, then as the first SSPX District Superior for all of Africa.

Father founded the SSPX priory in Florida on September 15, 2010 - the feast of Our Lady of the Seven Sorrows. In 2011, he started St. Thomas More Academy and is its Principal. Fr. Vernoy is now an American citizen and loves his apostolate in the state where the first Mass was offered on the North American continent.

Fr. James Haynos

Fr. Pierre Duverger

Born in France, the ninth of eleven siblings his family was blessed to know Archbishop Marcel Lefebvre in Dakar (Senegal) when he was Apostolic Delegate for Africa.

Father entered the seminary in 1988 on the steps of his two brothers, Patrick and Loïc, also priests of the Society of Saint Pius X. Ordained in 1995 in Ecône, he served in France then seven years in Chile and Argentina as a parish priest and a school principal. After four more years in France, Father has been serving at the US District Headquarters for eight years. In 2017, he became an American citizen.

He arrived at St. Thomas More Priory in 2018 after heart surgery and stayed here, very appreciative of the warm welcome and climate of the Floridians. He loves the outdoors and camping with his scouts.
