Little Lives Matter Marches Into the New Year

Little Lives Matter started the new year in a big way. We marched for life in a very special, deeply Catholic place, Saint Augustine, Florida. This venerable Spanish settlement where the first Mass on American soil was said, the Catholic martyrs shed their blood and the Catholic faith was planted as a small acorn destined to grow into the grand oak tree of faith which would eventually spread across the entire nation, was therefore, a most appropriate place for this inspiring example of Catholic action. For the first time Mrs. Margie Simonton, one of the founding members of LLM, organized and led a group of Little Lifers from Saint Thomas More Priory in Sanford, Florida to The March for Life in Saint Augustine, on January 14th.

Ironically, the Saint Thomas More Priory is operated by a group of missionary priests, not unlike those missionaries who brought the faith to these Floridian shores over four centuries ago. Little Lives Matter group joined the hundreds of other marchers who were there to peacefully protest abortion. The march helped launch the new year for defending the unborn and helping their vulnerable mothers.

Marching or peacefully protesting is a long-revered hallmark of the people of the United States of America. During the course of our illustrious history, we have seen American people generously give their time and great energy to various causes they believed in with great tenacity. Arguably, marching for life, is the most crucial peaceful protest ever held on American soil. With the spirit of the American pioneer combined with the deeply held Catholic belief that all children are gifts from God, Little Lives Matter was able to join the march on that chilly January morning in a place with deep spiritual significance.

Little Lives Matter is a new pro-life club of Saint Thomas More parish whose mission is to pray for, educate, and support in a practical hands-on manner, women and their families who find themselves in a crisis pregnancy.

Little Lives Matter held its first event in December with a presentation from Life Choices Medical Clinic of Altamonte Springs, FL. Then it held a Christmas fundraiser for this pro-life clinic which is located next door to the Altamonte Springs abortion facility. They were able to donate a lovely Christmas box full of useful goodies for moms who chose to give life to their children.
