The newly ordained priests and deacons

Saturday, June 21, 2024, on the feast of St. Aloysius Gonzaga, Bishop Alfsonso de Galarreta ordained deacons and priests for the Society of Saint Pius X and for the Benedictine monastery of Our Lady of Guadalupe.

Ordinations are a great feast in the seminaries, because, firstly, they represent the very aim of this institution: to form priests and to give them to the Church. And, secondly, it is a veritable miracle to receive vocations in today’s secularized world, and to be able to give them the elements necessary for them to become good priests.

But, it is also a feast for all the Society, who sees the number of apostolic workers increasing. These men will be preaching Jesus Christ and His Reign all over the world.

Finally, it is a feast for the Church, who rejoices to see new combatants for the Faith swell the ranks of those who have been doing battle for 50 years against the errors of the modern world.

This year, six seminarians received the major order of the diaconate: four Americans, one Australian, and one Benedictine monk from Our Lady of Guadalupe monastery.

And Bishop de Galarreta conferred the priesthood upon five seminarians: three Americans, one South Korean, and one Benedictine monk from Our Lady of Guadalupe monastery in Silver City, New Mexico.
